Your new role Your job as an academic mentor will involve you using your graduate based expert subject knowledge to work with small groups of pupils, primarily those who are under achieving, to guide them to achieve their highest potential. You will be working within well-established subject departments delivering intervention work in specialist subjects and you will also be responsible for giving regular progress reports to the head of department. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this academic mentor job you will be educated to degree level and have a passion for delivering your subject. You will also have proven and referenceable experience of working with children aged 11-18 in the last two years. You will have excellent communication skills and be ambitious and motivational. Experience working as a mentor or coach is desirable along with any intervention experience.
