Assistant Commercial Manager East Midlands Contract (outside IR35)RT Consulting are recruiting for a number of commercial professionals on a contract basis for a Defence client based in the East Midlands. Successful candidates will be part of either a deliver or enabling team, operating as a supervised practitioner in their specialist area. The Assistant Commercial Manager will deal with both internal and external stakeholders across a wide variety of issues and processes. The role will also include, but won't be limited to: Assisting with the management of a portfolio of contracts, including changes to cot or scheduleConducting the sales and disposals of MOD equipmentAssisting with the development and implementation of commercial policiesDelegating of work to same-level staff, apprentices and graduatesConducting low value purchasing and contract amendment activities and ensuring that relevant commercial rules, regulations and policies are applied accordinglyUpdating management information systems and spreadsheetsSetting up, amending and managing purchase orders against framework agreementsConducting simple negotiations with suppliers Skills Previous experience as an assistant manager within a commercial setting is highly desirable. Due to nature of the role, a good level of written and verbal communication skills are required, as well as a proactive and collaborative approach when working as part of a team. The role requires some IT skills, however you will need the ability to interpret and analyse subject specific data then prepare and distribute it to the relevant management teams. No qualifications are required but you will be required to obtain CIPS level 3 and CCP level 3 within the first 18 months of employment.
