BIA Overview: BIA aims to provide independent, reliable, valued, insightful and timely assurance to the Board and Executive Management over the effectiveness of governance, risk management and control over current and evolving risks, in the context of the current and expected business environment.Key Accountabilities and Skills required:Key specific accountabilities.Work collaboratively with others to develop strong client relationships and support delivery of BIA Audit Plan.Scope audit assignments including preparation of the scoping document.Manage audit work to ensure that relevant risks and controls have been identified and appropriately assessed.Manage audit teams on a day to day basis, working to ensure that audits progress as planned, as regards scope, budget and timetable.Stakeholder management and leadership.Lead discussions with clients regarding audit observations, consulting with the Director and Vice Presidents where necessary.Build trusting and open relationships with clients on each audit and develop on-going relationships with key clients in aligned business area.Provide constructive feedback and evaluation to team members for audit assignments and support Directors and Vice Presidents (VPs).Act as mentor and coach to less experienced team members and support others to develop. Provide guidance to AVPs during audit assignments.Decision making and problem solving.Review and direct control evaluation (and perform evaluation when appropriate).Review and complete documentation of scoping, process understanding, risk & control identification, control evaluation and observations in BIA audit toolkit.Write high quality observations and audit reports (with input from the audit team).Basic Qualifications/ExperienceExperienced working as a Market Risk Manager or in Market Risk ReportingExperienced working as a Product Controller in Investment BankingProven working experience and exposure on ICAAP, and Regulatory Stress Test (BoE and CCAR)Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate effectively to senior technical specialists (Risk Managers, Treasurers etc.) and senior non-technical individualsStrong understanding of the evolving regulatory environment (eg Capital Requirements Regulation, Basel I/II/III, Stress Testing/CCAR, IFRS 9) and its challengesQualification in quantitative discipline (eg CFA, FRM)Preferred Qualifications/ExperienceProven track record of senior stakeholder managementProven ability to deliver timely high quality analytical work in a relatively unsupervised environmentExperience of managing audits/driving initiatives in a relevant fieldStrong risk and control understandingFinancial services experience and familiar with investment bank operationsDisplays willingness and initiative to learn and share knowledgePostgraduate degree
