Business Planning and Reporting ManagerContract OpportunityPortsmouthPrimary Purpose:The role of the Business Planning and Reporting (BP&R) Manager is to ensure the effective running of the divisional forecasting and reporting processes for Client Services all group reporting deadlines are met.The BP&R Manager will ensure that all elements of cost and recharge are consolidated into divisional management accounts, forecasts and budgets (Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statements). Through working with the subject matter experts within the Corporate Services Finance team, the BP&R Manager will understand all costs and variances in order to compile business commentaries for Senior Management.Primary Objectives:To ensure the following statements are completed and submitted to Group Finance within the issued deadlines, for bothBCS andBIL legal entities: Month-End Actuals - PnL, BS and CFQuarterly Forecasts - PnL, BS and CFAnnual Budgets - PnL, BS and CFEnsure the production of the monthly Management Accounts pack to be reviewed with the CIO, Group Financial Controller and Head of Corporate Services Finance, clearly identifying the business drivers behind any variances to budget/forecast.Review Cost Centre Reports with the relevant budget holders within the IS Management Team, identifying new items that will influence future forecasts/budgets.Manage and publish the various reporting timetables to the BCS Finance Team, ensuring that submit information early enough to allow consolidation/questioning.Manage the Divisional Fixed Assets Registers (all aspects of reporting and forecasting).Manage, coach and develop the Business Planning and Reporting Accountant, plus any graduates or apprentices that may pass through the team.Other ad-hoc projects.Skills and competencies:Able to demonstrate success in working in a similar BP&R role.Ability to see the bigger picture and to understand the business and operational drivers behind financial statements.Equally adept in communicating with both Board members and operational IT managersStrict attention to detail.Self-starter/able to work with limited guidance.Team-player with ability to achieve results through shared initiatives.Demonstrable experience of working on complex projects/initiatives.Robust character with the ability to work under pressure.Diligent and dependable with strong integrity.A competent and pro-active advisor who is able to identify where financial processes, controls and procedures can be adapted to add value to the business.Required Experience:Qualified Accountant with 5+ years PQE.Proven experience of managing a number of deliverables to tight deadlinesExperience in communicating at Board LevelPrevious experience of business process re-engineering around the financial reporting framework.Proven team management experience.Experience of influencing other's deliverables to ensure they can be consolidated to ensure on-time group submissions.Experience in working in a large multi-site organisationKey interactions:Chief Information OfficerGroup Financial ControllerCorporate Services Finance teamHead of Corporate Services FinanceGroup Finance TeamIS management Team
