The role:Supporting the Bristol family team, this is an opportunity for you to build on your legal experience by assisting the team in their day to day work.You will work with the family team on a varied caseload, handling high quality family law matters to include care work, injunctions, financial matters, divorce and children matters for their clients; our particular expertise is with professional clients, high net worth individuals, those with business interests and those in the sports and agricultural sectors.You will be working alongside experienced family solicitors and where possible, be involved with all stages of the case, taking part in client meetings and liaising with clients, counsel, the court and third parties on a regular basis, both over the telephone and face to face. You will be assisting with casework and case file management, drafting legal documents (with supervision), preparing bundles for trial, assisting with the billing process and conducting legal research on occasion as requested.Although this role is primarily a fee-earning role, there may also be some administrative aspects to the role in providing high quality and pro-active support to the family team, if required.About you:You will be a law or GDL graduate with a strong level of academic achievement, a genuine passion for family law and a keen interest in pursuing a career in this area. Ideally you will have also completed the LPC.You will have a basic knowledge of family law, attained through your legal studies and/or recent work experience.You should be proactive and flexible in working both individually and as part of a team, with minimal supervision, and be able to prioritise a number of different projects effectively.Communication will be one of your strong points, both written and oral, and you will be enthusiastic about delivering excellent quality service to our clients.We expect you to be able to use your initiative, and be a forward-planner, anticipating our clients' needs in advance wherever possible.
