This serves as the foundation to building our pipeline of future leaders. Our Bridges team focuses on a wide range of bridge assessment, design and maintenance schemes. Recently, they have been working on projects such as A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon Improvements, preparing design options for A19 Norton to Wynyard improvements and providing design support to A-one+ in MAC Areas 4, 12 and 14. As a graduate working within our Bridges team in the Stockton-on-Tees office, you will be involved in undertaking civil/ structural engineering design and assessment work, including but not limited to: * Detailed design calculations for highway structures, bridges, foundations and other highway and rail infrastructure in accordance with British and European Standards, Railway Standards and other relevant design codes (BD, CIRIA etc) * Surveys, inspection and appraisal of existing structures and bridges * Preparation of reports such as feasibility studies, method statements, specifications, approval documents and detailed design documents * Production of drawings in collaboration with CAD technicians * Support to senior staff in co-ordination of tenders and projects for clients * Design checking and calculation assessments as well as detailed drawing reviews * Delivering projects in accordance with quality, timescales and budget You can work towards becoming Incorporated or Chartered with the Institution of Civil Engineers and/ or Institution of Structural Engineers, and will also benefit from: * Support from other graduates within the office * Support from other senior members of the team with all aspects of learning * A dedicated Delegated Engineer and Supervising Civil Engineer to ensure individuals are fully prepared when they take their professional qualifications The minimum qualifications for this position are: Graduated or expecting to graduate with a minimum 2.1 or Merit Bachelors or Masters degree in or related to Civil Engineering The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience: * Confident in communication with high level of verbal and written English * High motivation to join CH2M * Commitment and motivation to participate and learn * Effective team player * Good personal planning and organization * High level of competency in the use of standard office software applications * Technically competent in engineering theory and analysis of structures * Knowledge of the CDM regulations applicable to highway infrastructure works would be a bonus * Awareness of standards pertinent to structures management and inspection including Eurocodes would be a plus as well How to apply If you are interested in applying to us for these roles please submit your application with an up-to-date resume.
