Graduates, interns and apprentices are key to the overall success of CH2M. We invest in initial career experience of graduates through our graduate development programme. This serves as the foundation to building our pipeline of future leaders. Our Highways team focuses on the development of highway infrastructure projects, from feasibility to preliminary and detailed design, working with clients from both public and private sectors. Recently they have been working on projects such as the A19 Norton to Wynyard and A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon Improvement schemes and providing local design support to our Area 14 A-one+ MAC, maintaining the local truck road network. As a graduate working within our Highways team in the Stockton-on-Tees office, you will be involved in undertaking civil/ structural engineering design and assessment work, including but not limited to: * General design assistance on highway projects to time and budget * Developing highway designs and associated highway infrastructure works * Preparation of reports such as feasibility studies, method statements, specifications, approval documents and detailed design documents * Production of drawings in collaboration with CAD technicians * Support to senior staff in co-ordination of tenders and projects for clients * Checking design and assessment calculations and reviewing detailed drawings * Delivering projects in accordance with quality, timescales and budget You can work towards becoming Incorporated or Chartered with the Institution of Civil Engineers, and will also benefit from: * Support from other graduates within the office * Support from other senior members of the team with all aspects of learning * A dedicated Delegate Engineer and Supervising Civil Engineer to ensure individuals are fully prepared when they take their professional qualifications The minimum qualifications for this position are: Graduated with or are expecting to graduate with a minimum 2.1 or Merit Bachelors or Masters degree in or related to Civil Engineering The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience: * Excellent communication skills both verbal and written * High motivation to join CH2M * Be focused on working towards Incorporated or Chartered status with the ICE or IStructE * Strong interpersonal and team working skills * Technically competent especially in understanding of engineering theory * Awareness of design standards, including the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and Specification for Highways Works would be helpful * Knowledge of the CDM regulations applicable to highway infrastructure works would be helpful as well How to apply If you are interested in applying to us for these roles please submit your application with an up-to-date resume.
