Graduate supply chain engineer, Belfast £23,000 PA Your new company I'm working with my client, a leading manufacturer of mechanical equipment in the Belfast area in their search for graduate supply chain engineer to work in an abridged capacity between the engineering and commercial teams. The position has arisen due to the challenge of the growing demand for their products, and the need to advise the commercial teams on technical matters. Your new role You will be responsible for advising on all the business processes the product arrives to customer. This includes the acquisition of raw materials, production processes, special logistic requirements and engineering changes which may affect the buying, planning and scheduling teams. In short, you'll be become a product expert with a customer facing responsibility. Responsibilities: * Work closely with the supply chain teams advising on technical matters such as material suitability, metallurgy, de-bunking engineering drawings and change notices, risks, lead times, cost price breakdown, volumes, and customer coverage. * Develop measures for analysis of the procedures, suggesting improvements and implementation of them in line with the production department. * Be responsible for design and implementation of new material integration processes * Become the point of contact for your colleagues from the production, logistics, purchasing, and sales departments for everything that has to do with technical or operational processes. * Work with suppliers, logistics service providers, customers, in the purchase of raw materials, packaging materials, auxiliary materials, and transport. * Report to the supply chain and engineering managers. What you'll need to succeed The right person will be technically and analytically strong, with a degree in mechanical engineering or a similar design related degree with a strong knowledge and interest in mechanics. This role is for you if you can analyse business processes well and make good business connections; you are good at maintaining relationships with customer; have a good financial insight, and you are able to take accountability for your part in the process.
