My Client is seeking an IBD Syndication and Distribution Transactor to be involved in various transaction types requiring syndication inputs across various asset classes. The successful candidate will have an investment banking background and a proven track record of deals. As well as preferably have an established investor (asset manager, hedge fund or real money network). Performance Required: The successful candidate must have strong interpersonal skills as well as strong asset knowledge with the ability to debate complex issues and manage multiple stakeholders. They must have a proven track record of deals across various asset classes and an understanding of how they would apply to the markets. They must be able to work as part of a highly innovative and competitive team, meeting demanding deadlines. They must have the ability to apply knowledge and experience in such a manner that they add sustainable value.Objectives:Be involved in various transaction types requiring syndication inputs across various asset classesNetwork and build relationships with financial institutions across Europe, Middle East, Asia and AfricaPlace credit in the international markets across various credit asset classesKeep up to date with news and events that might affect various individual counterparties, clients and internal portfoliosDevelop and enhance sound relationships within the IBD origination teams.Increase the profile of Syndication & Distribution within IBD and particularly the importance of the role that Syndication & Distribution plays in IBD's Hard Currency expansionEnsure that IBD transactions that are to be distributed are appropriately priced and structured for distribution to investors and/or banksWork with the origination teams to (i) win mandates for multi lender deals (ii) provide market and investor knowledge to support underwriting decisions, and (iii) ensure that underwritten transactions are timeously placed in the market at or better than underwritten spreadsAssist in drafting of non-deal documents including market update documents, strategy papers and training/educational material (for internal purposes), limit frameworks and new mandatesDay to day tasks: Assist in preparing pitch books for clients and in responding to RFPsTravel to various Jurisdictions to engage with borrowers, as and when requiredAssist in writing underwrite papers and providing distribution inputs on credit papersEnsure that the legals have sufficient clauses for transferability of Hard Currency assets and other clauses such as clear market, market flexAnalyze and approve any assets where the intention is to place these assets into the marketAssist bookrunning investors on live dealsOperate Debt Domain - link clients, launch deals, upload documents, maintain comments on live deals, call reports, make sure all data is correctMeet and network with investors across Europe, Middle East, Asia and Africa with a particular focus on AsiaWrite call reports promptly after meetings and follow up where needed, maintain database of investorsAnswer adhoc market related queries from our teams across AfricaMaintain details of deals for league table and ensure timely submissionAssist in secondary selldowns, including preparing associated trade documentationMaintain and file all documents, get signatures on legals, NDAs, etc.Manage DCF process and KYCSupport and guide agency processes Qualifications and Experience:The successful candidate must hold a MBA, post graduate degree in finance or law or equivalent qualification with at least 5 years relevant Investment Banking experience, ideally in the international market. Preferably have an established investor (Asset manager, hedge fund or real money) network, ideally form part of this experience.Competencies Required:General understanding of the international loan marketUnderstanding of Bank's credit grading, portfolio theory, RWA and credit pricing modelsGeneral knowledge of practical economics relating to business, industry and the hard currency macro-economic environmentGeneral understanding of trends in the global lending and credit marketsComputer literacy: proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word, ability to use Bloomberg effortlessly a bonusExcellent selling, negotiation and presentation skillsPreference for a track record in placing or originating corporate/sovereign debt, securitisation, leveraged finance, infrastructure finance, asset back finance or property financeStrong interpersonal skills and a pro-active attitudeTeam player and flexible to working in a changing environmentStrong client relationships and the ability to develop strong relationships with new clients in a short space of timeAbility to create sufficient standing to ensure buy-in from relevant stakeholdersLanguage skills preferred, especially in Asian languages such as Korean or Mandarin
