We are now recruiting a Junior Web Developer to join our team in Forest Row, East Sussex. Rydon group operates throughout England, predominantly in London and the southern counties. We are a dynamic, multi talented organisation, working across a wide range of construction market sectors within the built environment. Job Purpose: We now have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Developer to join our small in-house web development team, based in Forest Row, East Sussex. This team is responsible for designing (in conjunction with business users) and building web based applications to enhance user experience and to customise the business user experience for Rydon employees. The team have already developed some innovative applications that have saved the business time and money. The role of the junior developer will initially be primarily focused Front End development and bug fixing. You will also be involved in learning/developing new windows applications using MVC and HTML 5 CSS. Current key projects include the development and further enhancement of the Rydon Management System (which manages via workflow our key business processes), designed/built using ASP.NET MVC backbone. Further to this, you will also receive exposure and further development in the use of MS SQL Server, ASP.NET MVC and Windows Application Development. We will provide full training in full stack web development, Back End coding and native mobile development (Xamarin) to the preferred candidate. This therefore represents an excellent opportunity for the preferred candidate to gain significant exposure to new and innovative techniques within and in-house development environment. Given the business appetite for development, there is also excellent scope for personal career development within Rydon. Experience Required: The preferred candidate may have previous web-development experience, or be a recent graduate holding a relevant degree (such as Computer Science). You should also have excellent maths ability - to A-Level standard. It is essential for the preferred candidate to demonstrate a good understanding and be confident in the use of HTML 5 CSS. It would also be a distinct advantage to understand Bootstrap, JavaScript (particularly JQuery). It is desirable but by no means essentially for the preferred candidate to understand MVC (Model View Controller - eg Backbone), though full training will be provided in this for the successful candidate. Finally, the preferred candidate should be keen to develop a career, demonstrating an enthusiastic approach to their work and be ready for a creative and varied role.
