Mechanical Engineer - CreoA Mechanical Engineer with Creo experience is required to work on a six month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our defence client based in Barrow.This is a 6 month contract with a leading UK defence company.Overview of the Mechanical Engineer with Creo contract roleDerive functional system requirements from customer requirements.Concept generation and development of weapons sub systems including:StructuresAmmunition feed systemsElevation/traverse systemsMan Machine InterfacesDevelop designs in line with requirements and all quality and technical standards.Perform technical investigations, including evaluation of technical options, and prepare reports with suggested recommendations.Weight optimization of systems/structures via re-design and/or use of advanced materials, such as titanium and aluminium alloys, composites and additive layer manufacturing techniques.Integration of sub-systems into an evolving product design, including laboratory tests, shop-floor development testing and off site trials.Participate in bid preparation to facilitate the development of successful bids.Participate in internal and external meetings or design reviewsKey skills required for the Mechanical Engineer - CreoDegree level or equivalent in a mechanical engineering discipline with at least 3 years postgraduate experience within an engineering environment, or to HNC level with 5 years relevant experience.Engineering background in a weapons system or design for military use.Diesel Engine and Military Vehicles experience would be consideredStructural/Stress analysis (MS Excel, Mathcad, FEA {PTC Simulate/Ansys})System Control (Matlab/Simulink)Hydraulic System DesignAdvanced Materials : Composites, Additive Layer ManufacturingIf you are a Mechanical Engineer with Creo looking for a new contract either apply online or please contact Mark Ellis on (see below) or phone.Do you know anyone who might be looking for a new role?
