Senior Consultant - Data Science & Analytics (SQL, SAS, Python)
Salary: Competitive
Location: Luton

TUI Group sees the application of data and analytics as a core source of competitive advantage in the drive to deliver market leading personalised customer experiences which maximise the value captured from our extensive product range whilst operating at maximum efficiency. This is a great time to join a new team which will extend the application of data and analytics within the TUI business, joining up the data and thinking across multiple business functions.

The Senior Consultant - Data Science & Analytics (SQL, SAS, Python) will work on key strategic projects taking accountability for the design and development of the analytical solutions using a variety of technologies, and techniques including statistical modelling, econometrics and data science. These projects may operate across different source markets, and hence although primarily UK based, some travel may be required.

TUI UK & Ireland is one of the leading markets within the TUI Group - the world's number one integrated tourism business.

What the Senior Consultant - Data Science & Analytics (SQL, SAS, Python) will be doing

As a senior consultant you will liaise with multiple stakeholders to define and obtain the buy-in for change, and you will support the definition of hypotheses, potential solution approaches and business benefits. You will then support specification and agreement on actual analytics solutions and required data inputs, and, working with both business and IT teams, ensure such solutions are delivered to time and budget, productionised as appropriate, and that benefits are realized.

You will work to the TUI Analytics Framework and in small multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring that potential solutions are prototyped and analysed in advance of development; using methodical processes you will support solution option analysis and selection based on insight derived from data, clear articulation of value and benefits, and delivery of solutions, including rigorous and structured testing.

Examples of recent and on-going work include:

•Real time analytics of anonymous browser behaviour and data to drive personalization and higher conversion on anonymous website visits and searches;
•Optimisation of in-flight catering and retailing stock to maximize choice and revenue, whilst minimising stock outages across the UK & I airline operation;

You will work closely with IT and business teams throughout project lifecycles supporting effort prioritisation to ensure benefit delivery is accelerated and maximized and project risks are minimized.

You will take a client centered "consulting" approach to delivery, ensuring the needs of end users are met whilst at the same time being able to influence their thinking to ensure acceptance and buy-in to new ways of working.

You will work to develop solutions that form part of major IT projects, lead the development on smaller projects and also undertake consultancy assignments where the deliverable may be action orientated insight, rather than the delivery of an on-going solution.

You will contribute in helping TUI to develop an industry leading capability in data science and analytics, getting involved furthering our analytics academy and associated skills training programme. You will be part of our strategic drive towards being an analytically led business, and part of a community of people skilled in the application of data and analytics based solutions who learn from and drive each other.
