Our Traffic & Transport Planning team is involved in some of the UK's most high profile, complex and stimulating projects that are diverse and technically demanding. We have an enviable reputation in the delivery of some of the UK's and indeed the world's most prestigious and challenging projects. Our current client portfolio includes Highways England, Network Rail, Crossrail2, Transport for London, National Grid, Civil Engineering Contractors and Borough/County Councils, for whom we undertake the planning, design and supervision of civil engineering and transport solutions to exceed our client's requirements. Owing to recent contract awards, we are now looking to recruit a high calibre Senior Traffic Modeller to work on a wide portfolio of schemes throughout the UK, ensuring we meet and exceed our client's requirements. Requirements: We are seeking to recruit a career minded Senior Traffic Modeller who has gained solid work experience on transport, land development, energy and infrastructure projects and who possesses the following credentials: Minimum Academic Qualifications:• Degree in Engineering / Geography / Planning or related subject Desirable Academic Qualifications:• Chartered or working towards Chartership of a relevant professional body (CILT, TPS, CIHT etc)
• Post-graduate qualification in Transportation Essential Experience:• Proven experience undertaking traffic modelling using software including TRANSYT, LINSIG and VISSIM
• Proven experience in the design of junctions, pedestrian crossings, cycle, bus and pedestrian priority measures and traffic management schemes
• Experience writing and presenting technical reports
• Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with clients and key stakeholders Desirable Experience: • Proven experience undertaking traffic modelling using SATURN, AIMSUN and / or PARAMICS
• Experience of working on London schemes with experience of TfL's Model Audit Processes
• Working Knowledge of AutoCAD
• Knowledge of Road Safety Studies
• Experience of producing and contributing towards Environmental Impact Assessments and Transport Assessments gained in consultancy Duties & Responsibilities:Reporting to the Principal Transport Planner or Associate Technical Director, you will provide project management and technical support into assigned projects ensuring successful delivery of technically challenging Transport, Infrastructure and Energy schemes. We will ensure that we offer personal development which will allow you to progress your career and offer you the opportunity to be mentored by industry wide recognised Technical Leaders in their field who will lend you their experience and ensure that the training you receive will give you the best possible chance of success The role will include the following responsibilities: • Leading the analyses relating to transportation/traffic engineering projects including traffic modelling, feasibility design, database, spread sheet and proprietary model coding and interrogation
• Preparation of technical reports and presentations relating to the project as required in line with company and client requirements as well as national standards and codes of practice
• Provide inputs to multi-disciplinary transport studies and environmental assessments, including routeing strategies, traffic management plans and strategy advice
• Project management
• Meeting with clients and stakeholders as well as working with other disciplines and consultants on projects
• Preparation of technical reports and presentations relating to the project as required in line with company and client requirements as well as national standards and codes of practice
• Participating in the resolution of technical issues
• Presenting lessons learned and best practice to peers and wider professional audience
• Becoming familiar with, and compliant with, relevant H & S regulations and to promote a culture of awareness within the team
• Working in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design
• Liaising with the Project Director / Manager and the client to keep informed of all developments associated with the project
