Software Development Engineer, Embedded C, MATLAB, Python, Firmware Overview: This role will be responsible for designing and developing algorithms and software for various touch sensor products. The role will include the opportunity to work on a wide variety of engineering problems within the capacitive sensing field and to partner with system and application teams to develop and support products. Main Duties: Embedded C coding in support of various cap sense projects for tier 1 customers o Includes driver and Middleware development and algorithm implementation Multicore ASIC programming Working at the cutting edge of capacitive sensing and display technologies Working in a continuous delivery team with consumer electronics customers Design, simulate and implement algorithms for tracking and interpreting user input. Update and maintain our product firmware to support development and operations Undertake feature development based on customer input Apply sound engineering practices and adhere to company design rules (H/W & S/W) and QA guidelines To acquire in-depth knowledge of relevant products and their applications. Keep updated with latest developments in capacitive sensing and our target markets. Engineering Skill Set Experience of firmware and software development in C Experience of a high level language like MATLAB; Python; LabVIEW etc would be beneficial. Experience in using revision control tools like SVN and Git. Capable of working across the full software life cycle. Experience of applying test driven development and behaviour driven development practices would be beneficial. Experience of operating in a SCRUM team, CI environment or in other Agile techniques would be beneficial. Qualifications and ExperienceBSc or BEng Electronics/Computer Science/Software Engineering (or a similar relevant subject) Solid post graduate or placement experience in Engineering
